It's Quench Quench is dedicated to delivering her most authentic self in every performance. Hailing from the Philippines, her dance journey began at the age of 4, influenced by the iconic King of Pop and Princess of Pop showcased on MTV. Despite lacking a formal dance background, she meticulously studied music videos, mastering dance moves through repetition. A pivotal moment came in college, where she co-founded the Letran Jazz Endanza dance troupe. It was there that she earned her moniker "Quench," symbolizing the satisfaction she aimed to bring to her audience with each routine. Post-college, Quench sought to continue her dance exploration and stumbled upon a pole dance class near her workplace. Falling in love with the art, she embraced the challenge, eventually being invited to substitute teach just three months into her pole trial. This marked the beginning of her journey as a professional performer and instructor. Quench's passion led her to teach at various studios across the metro, prompting her to resign from her day job. Joining the renowned Philippine pole dance group, Pole Dolls, in 2013, she specialized in aerial silks and Polesque, earning accolades such as first runner-up in the 2015 Pole-lux competition (semi-professional category). In 2016, Quench became the studio manager but eventually left in pursuit of her artistic freedom. Balancing her creative pursuits with a return to her advertising career, she continued teaching and performing on the side. Upon relocating to Australia in 2019, Quench discovered Sky Sirens then, Sydney Pole in 2023, embracing these studios as her second home. The warm and inclusive community has always resonated with her, always wanting to providing a space to inspire people to dance and continue learning. Grateful for the opportunity to continue her artistic journey, she remains committed to authenticity, a principle she deeply connects with, especially through the Meisner technique. Quench's story is one of passion, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to artistic authenticity. Photo by Sky Sirens Glory Box October, 2022 |
